WORK is being carried-out yet again at one of Royston's most notorious road junctions. Motorists face delays when work is undertaken on the junction of Queens Road and Kneesworth Street. A pedestrian crossing work should have been completed last June, but was dogged with problems. The work now being carried out at the weekend is to improve drainage and fit an audio warning tone to the crossing. A spokesman for Herts County Council said: "After every scheme we go back and do an assessment and if anything needs improving, then we get that done. "With this site we've had complaints from residents and councillors about puddles forming. We couldn't just leave that as it's causing problems and affecting the residents." County Councillor Stuart Pile, executive member for transport and environment, said: "There may be some noise nuisance, but we have chosen to schedule the work at the weekend in order to reduce congestion, as this was highlighted as a significant concern when the main works were carried out." The work will be carried between 7.30am and 6.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
