RUNNERS from Royston firm Episys were victorious in last weekend's Chariots of Fire race in Cambridge.

A team from the company, based in Newark Road, Royston, won the ladies' race, raising money for cancer charities in the process. They also entered teams in the men's and mixed categories.

Team member Julie Herron said: "Chariots of Fire is a great event because you get both serious runners and people who are treating it as a fun run. Cambridge University always enters a team who are keen to do well, so to beat them is a fantastic achievement."

Chariots of Fire is a relay race covering a 1.7 mile course past the colleges and along the Backs.

Julie said: "Everyone in our team performed brilliantly, and we had lots of help from our coach Mike Vogel.

"Sponsorship money is still coming in, but it looks like we've raised a sizable total for charity.
