The Royston Leos have made their first charity donation since the club was formed last year.

A cheque for £100 was presented this week to staff of Wood Green, The Amimals Charity’s shop in the town’s High Street.

The Leos – who are a junior branch of the Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service club organisation – raised the money by running a school stationery shop and holding a chocolate tombola.

The Royston Leos club is open to youngsters aged 12 to 14 living in the area. They meet at Greneway School on the third Thursday each month.

For more search see the Royston Lions Facebook page or go www.woodgreen.org.uk for more on the animal charity, which has a shelter in Heydon as well as two others in Cambs.
