A woman in her 80s was taken to hospital yesterday after a car and a small van collided in Barrington at about 6pm.

Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to release the woman after the crash between a green Kia Picanto and a white Mercedes Sprinter van in Haslingfield Road.

The road was blocked and closed between Barrington and Haslingfield and was reopened at 9.45pm.

An ambulance then took her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge to receive further care, but it’s not clear what injuries she sustained.
