ROAD traffic police officers are appealing for witnesses and information after an elderly woman suffered serious leg injuries on Friday morning in Royston after being struck by a car.
The driver of the vehicle involved, a Renault Laguna, was manoeuvring her vehicle in the car park of Tesco's in Old North Road, when the incident occurred at 11.30am.
The 86-year-old female pedestrian sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, for treatment. The driver was uninjured.
Pc Bob Hauxwell, a serious traffic incident investigator, based with the Crash Investigation Unit at Police Headquarters, Welwyn Garden City, is the officer leading the inquiry. Anyone with information is asked to contact him on 01707 354379.
