A BREWERY in Royston has won three awards for its quality beer, beating off stiff competition from across East Anglia.
The Buntingford Brewery, in Therfield Road, has won medals for three beers it entered in this year's SIBA (Society for Independent Brewers) East Region Beer Competition.
Director Catherine Murphy described the success as "reassuring".
"It's nice to know people find the beers worthy of drinking," she said.
Royston Red won gold in the premium bitter category, Britannia won bronze for best bitter, and Oatmeal Stout won bronze in the porters and stout category.
Head brewer Steve Banfield said: "The last 12 months have seen the majority of our beers win awards and sales have been growing steadily since our relocation to Therfield Heath.

"Our recent collaboration with Wooden House Design and Media to redesign the bottle labels and pump clips has had measurable results.
"The new designs have really worked to help push sales, attracting the trade, and therefore the customer, to our beers.
"The re-designed pump clips are very visible and quite distinctive. They really do communicate what the beers stand for and have certainly helped with the trial of the beers."
John Balodis, of Wooden House, said: "We're pleased that our designs have been rewarded with product recognition.
