For those wanting a toe-tapping evening of entertainment in a grand setting, the Wimpole Estate has just the event.

Tickets are still available for Friday’s Autumn Concert with virtuoso musicians Jon Fistein – who plays the cello – and pianist Andrew Black in Wimpole’s Long Gallery.

On the day there will also be after-dark access to the ground floor rooms, where room guides will be on hand to talk about the history of the Arrington mansion, which dates back to 1640.

Taking as their theme the Grand Tour, Jon and Andrew will play a selection of music from France and Italy, with a quick interlude of operatic Beethoven, finishing with some English music as a ‘coming home’.

The concert is part of a series of performances to get you through to the winter.

It starts at 8pm, tickets are £20 and include interval drink. To book your place call 0344 249 1895 or go to nationaltrust.org.uk/wimpole-estate/whats-on
