Womens Institute members gathered for a special lunch to celebrate their branch’s 90th birthday.
Fifty ladies from the WI Royston branch enjoyed a celebration at the Cambridge Motel, Shepreth.
Secretary Jean Emes said: “Two of our members, Phyllis Gwynn and Lorna Bennett, turned 90 this year too, so they received special certificates.
“The Royston WI had over 200 members at one point, and we’re growing again now after suffering a decline in numbers. We’re trying to shed the ‘jam and Jerusalem’ image, and we do a lot of different activities, like a walking group and a craft club, which have helped attract younger ladies.”
The WI at Royston Town Hall on the second Thursday of every month. Anyone interested in joining should contact Mrs Emes on 01763 245958.
