‘We want everyone to become aware of how easy it is to change energy supplier’ – North Herts Citizens Advice team urges households to see if they could save money on bills

The North Herts branch of Citizens Advice is backing the charity’s national campaign for the public to make the most of the financial support available as Big Energy Saving Week 2016 starts tomorrow.
The drive focuses on raising public awareness of how to get the best deal and make homes energy efficient.
But there’s no need to wait until the campaign week to get the best deal – as Citizens Advice North Herts team offer regular drop-in clinics at its Royston office, with appointment necessary.
All you need to do is bring along your last gas and electricity bills or your annual statement, and a qualified adviser can immediately find out how much you could save.
Jayne Boxall is the Herts Citizen Advice Energy Champion.
“If you’re part of a local group which you would like us to visit then please get in touch,” she said.
“We want everyone to become aware of how easy it is to change energy supplier. On average people save around £200 a year and we’ve even saved one person £800!”
Fellow energy champion Michelle Ryan added: “Although we will of course be taking part in Big Energy Saving Week we want to offer local people the opportunity to switch energy supplier all year round, which is why we now offer these weekly drop-in sessions.”
The sessions are held at Royston Town Hall on Tuesdays between 11am and 1pm.
