Town twinning association members enjoyed some German hospitality when they visited Royston's German twin town Grossalmerode.
Members of the Royston and District Town Twinning Association, the table tennis club, and the parish church, spent a long weekend in the town.
Publicity officer Clare Davies said: "The visitors went for a hike of the Meissner, the mountain which overlooks Grossalmerode."
They were also treated to a barbecue, and enjoyed visits to Hanstein Castle and Documenta, a modern art exhibition.
The association is looking forward to welcoming a party from Grossalmerode to Royston next summer.
