Gardens of all shapes and sizes were opened up on Sunday at the annual Ashwell at Home event.
Villagers welcomed many visitors to Ashwell, despite the rain, and they were able to admire many of the well-kept gardens.
Organiser Sarah Talks said: "There was a very nice feel about the day.
"It is a genuine cross-village event, where the whole community can get involved."
Refreshments at Ashwell school proved popular, and homemade food was served, and dances were performed by children.
The event, which was run entirely by volunteers, has been held annually since 1983.
