A VILLAGE hall is one of six community projects in South Cambridgeshire to receive a council-backed cash injection.
Orwell villaVge hall has received £884 from South Cambridgeshire district council to help with the cost of updating audio/visual equipment.
The money comes from the district council’s Community Chest grant programme. These are available to small voluntary organisations, charities and community groups for activities and projects that benefit local residents.
Cllr Ray Manning, Leader of South Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “We recognise and value the contribution that these groups make to our communities and are pleased to be able to support their on-going activities and services with grant funding.
“In the past we have supported a wide range of projects and welcome applications from any group looking to make a difference for residents in the district. Grants can be for local events, sporting activities or even the purchase of specialist equipment. Please get in touch to find out more.
Other projects which received support included Centre 33, a charity which helps young carers in Cambridgeshire.
