A NEW village sign has been unveiled to the residents of Melbourn.
Signwriter Mike Keith revealed his creation, based on the original design, which features Christian writer and preacher John Bunyan, the author of The Pilgrim's Progress.
Bunyan, who can be seen beneath a chestnut tree, once preached at the cross in the village.
Melbourn Parish Council clerk, Avril Mellor said: "People are very appreciative that they have got their village sign back.
"It gives distinct character to the village."
Guests at the ceremony included Mavis Howard, who was chairman of Melbourn Parish Council when the old sign was first erected.
