SEVEN fire crews are currently tackling a blaze at the Cock Inn in Stocking Pelham.
The thatched roof of the pub caught fire at about 12pm today. The fire fighters from Herts and Essex arrived at 12.30pm and found the building to be well alight.
Three people were inside the pub when the fire started, but they all escaped unharmed.
Owner of the Cock Inn, Dave Smith said: "I'm gutted, the building has been totally destroyed.
"We recently had a £150,000 refurbishment, and now everything has gone. I can't believe it."
Police have cordoned off streets around the pub, while fire crews continue attempts to extinguish the blaze.
