A CHEMICAL spill in Royston which closed roads and evacuated business is close to a conclusion police claim.
The incident which took place on Newark Close has seen Old North Road closed at the junction of York Way and Orchard Road at the junction of Greenfield closed.
A police spokesman said: “Fire crews are bringing the situation rather quickly and as soon as possible police will be reopening roads in the area to traffic we expect that to happen in the next half hour to an hour.”
No-one was hurt in the incident and the Health and Safety Executive have been notified.
As a precaution residents are advised to keep there windows closed overnight.
