BARRINGTON village school raised more than £4000 at its summer fete at the weekend.
Despite persistent rain crowds flocked to the fete and enjoyed attractions such as inflatable horse racing.
Ann Jones, school secretary, said: "The inflatable horse racing was very popular with the children and was a good money-raiser. But for me the highlight of the day was the fancy dress competition. The theme was space travel and the head teacher, Mrs Reeder dressed up as an astronaut.
"It was good to see so many pupils and their families attending even though the weather wasn't great, and we raised more money than last year which is good news for the school," she said.
