More than 400 vehicles were stopped and checked during an action day in Buntingford last week, with two arrests made.
Herts police headed up the operation alongside officers from Trading Standards, East Herts District Council and the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency.
Stop checks were conducted on the A10 in Buntingford, as well as the A507 and B1368.
Police made two arrests in connection with possessing criminal property – a 23-year-old man from Hatfield and 22-year-old man from Swindon have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
One suspected stolen vehicle was seized and one man was cautioned for possession of cannabis. Officers also issued 17 Vehicle Defect Notices and 11 drivers were reported for traffic related offences.
Another 20 drivers were given words of advice relating to less substantive vehicle defects and two air weapons were seized from a vehicle and examined by the Armed Policing Unit.
Buntingford Neighbourhood Sergeant Duncan Wallace said: “These operations demonstrate the power of partnership and team working in East Herts and we had another successful and proactive day.”
