TRUMPETER Alison Balsom has collected her honorary degree from Anglia Ruskin University.
Alison, who grew up in Royston, has been made an honorary Doctor of Arts for her "devotion to music and for her incredible musical achievements."
Over the last few years Alison has become one of the biggest names in classical music, and earlier this year became the first Briton to pick up the coveted Female Artist of the Year title at the Classical Brit Awards.
