Travellers in Royston Town Hall car park.

French travellers, who pitched up in Royston Town hall car park on Friday, have left.

The last of the caravans left last night, after they were served an eviction notice to leave this morning by North Herts District Council – the owners of the car park.

Police monitored the situation, and issued them with a code of conduct, setting out the ground rules regarding acceptable behaviour.
