A PARKING bay has been introduced at Tesco supermarket after a protest from Royston and District Community Tran-sport.
David Wherrell, who is scheme manager, told The Crow that he had experienced difficulty dropping-off and picking-up passengers because there was no designated parking space for disabled people near to the store entrance.
But after a meeting with Tesco and the sending of two hand-delivered letters, Mr Wherrell has secured a parking space for the scheme's drivers.
He said: "This is a positive step. At least they have listened. I just hope it won't get abused."
- The scheme is currently appealing for volunteer drivers for Royston and Melbourn for a few hours each week. Drivers receive 45 pence-a-mile.
If any one can help call David Wherrell on 01763 245228.
