TICKETS have been issued to the public to attend a Herts County Council debate on school transport next month.

The extraordinary council

meeting at County Hall will be discussing proposals to axe free transport for pupils attending faith schools.

Three petitions opposing the cuts are to be presented at the meeting on July 18.

The county council is providing an audio link to a nearby committee room as the council chamber has reached capacity.

Cllr David Lloyd, executive member for education, said: "We want to make sure that a variety of schools and faith groups can attend and are fairly represented."
