It’s considered a highlight in the spring calendar, and this year is set to be no exception with the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend bursting into full bloom next week.
About 10,000 people usually turn up to join in the fun-filled weekend, which sees 450 villagers joining forces to stage a show to remember.
So far the music acts confirmed are Michael Robshaw, Kelly & Wooley – a duo mixing cajun and trad British folk as well as Suffolk electronic duo Milque, covers outfit Special Groove and The Scoochys, an acoustic duo performing their own arrangements of traditional music.
There will also be a range of folk performers, including Alchemy, CarnaC and Martin Kaszak.
Don’t forget there will be the usual display of vintage vehicles for enthusiasts to admire, the church will host organ music, bell ringing, displays, talks and flower festival, and there will be free dray rides up and down the village all day.
Dan Murton from the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend Committee said: “Preparations are well in hand and this year we are introducing Farming Thriplow, a chance to try out tractor rides, and take a look at machinery displays.
“The weekend really is a celebration of spring. It’s the first big village event of the year.
