THE BIBLE will be read non-stop for three days during a sponsored reading marathon next month.
The Big Read will raise funds for the Bassingbourn Parish Church roof appeal.
More than 500 readers are expected to take part in the marathon, each with a 10 minute reading slot, when it begins on Thursday, September 21 at 6pm.
Work to the church's 12th Century nave can only be carried out if the church raises an additional £85,000 through local fundraising.
The £170,000 project is due to begin in December if sufficient funds are raised.
