Royston Volunteer Centre manager Denise Graham’s regular look at the voluntary sector in North East Herts
Calling all local voluntary organisations, community groups and sports clubs – if a group of volunteers could come to you for a day to give you practical help, what would you like them to do?
Employer-supported volunteering (ESV) is a way for employers and companies to give something back to the community in which they operate and there is an enthusiastic team in Royston which is looking for new projects.
Around 10 people from a local company are looking to work together to give a day of practical help to benefit the local community.
They would love an activity that they can look back on at the end of the day with a real sense of achievement.
Do you have a building or room that needs repainting, a garden that needs a revamp, a special area that needs a makeover or can you think of something completely different that would really make a difference?
You will need to provide any materials and refreshments but in return you will benefit from the help of these willing volunteers – and they will gain a fun-filled day of team-building, enjoyment and the satisfaction of helping others.
Have you got a one-off project that has been on the back burner for a while because it needs extra volunteer help to make it happen?
If you have, then what are you waiting for?
All you need to do is contact us and we will put you in touch with the team.
