AN AIR Cadet from Bassingbourn barracks is preparing for the trip of a lifetime.

Flight Sergeant Martin Goddard, 18, of the 2484 (Bassingbourn) squadron is heading off to Nepal as part of a global exchange programme.

He said, "Cadets has given me some amazing opportunities, and this will be the trip of a lifetime."

Based near Kathmandu, Martin will be learning about the Nepalese community, and working on local projects in the six months of his placement.

Following this he will be based in Brighton, completing the UK stint of the programme.

2484 (Bassingbourn) Squadron is open to young people aged 13 to 17, and meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6.45-9.45pm, at Bassingbourn Barracks.
