A Therfield man raised thousands of pounds for charity through a golf day in memory of his mother in law.
Neil Hardman organised the event for his 40th birthday to raise dosh for Myeloma UK, after his mother in law Jill Guiver passed away last April. He split the £3,000 raised from the event at the Gog Magog Golf Club with children’s charity Each.
About 80 people turned up to the successful fundraiser.
Neil said: “Thanks to friends and local businesses for donating raffle and auction prizes, and also to professional golfers and football teams Manchester Utd and Liverpool FC for donating signed memorabilia.
“I wanted to celebrate turning 40 and raise money for some good causes at the same time.
“It was a really great day at the golf course.
“The weather held apart from a crazy downpour towards the last few holes so we all went running back to the bar for shelter.”
