Villagers and visitors to Therfield now have the benefit of interpretation boards in the community, detailing wildlife and fauna, walks in the neighbourhood and historical landmarks in the village.

Julia Clarke and Isabelle Crozier from Countryside Management Services – which helped fund the boards – Therfield First School council, and St Mary’s Church Reverend Richard Morgan were all among the guests at the unveiling.

Parish council chair Michael McGloin said: ”I think they’re great and I do hope people use them.

“I’d like to thank all the councillors who put a lot of work into this project to make it happen.”

The boards came about as the parish council wanted to promote the rich diversity of wildlife, the history and the abundant plant life of the area, while also supporting good health and wellbeing.

The council are now working with the village’s Fox and Duck pub to put up a poster size version there and to create a smaller hand-held version too.
