LIONS, tigers, and a giraffe were herded into a school this week.

Pupils at Barrington Primary School were paid a visit by the Blunderbus Theatre company which performed a jungle story entitled Giraffes Can't Dance.

Class teacher Jill Davies said: "They used a combination of puppets and masks.

"The children thought it was fantastic, and couldn't believe there were only two actors playing all the different characters.

"We're using the story as the basis for our work in literacy and art over the next couple of weeks, and the pupils have already produced some excellent writing and paintings."

The story of the play concerns a giraffe who is shunned by his fellow animals because of his unusual style of dancing.

Jill said: "It's also been really useful because we've been able to talk to the children about the importance of being inclusive and not excluding those who are different.
