SOME of Royston’s best-kept business secrets have been revealed.
The second Royston’s Hidden Secrets showcase took place in two marquees at the Heath Sports Centre last week, and featured stalls from 39 business from Royston and the surrounding villages.
The aim of the day was to boost the profile of small companies which are thriving despite the recession.
Hidden Secrets is the brainchild of Linda Turner.
She said: “All the people I’ve spoken to said they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“Many of them told me they had discovered businesses in Royston they didn’t even know existed, which is precisely the reason we started the Hidden Secrets events.”
Exhibitors included businesses from a wide spectrum of different sectors, and many of them donated prizes for a number of raffles which were held throughout the day, with all proceeds going to Marie Curie Cancer care.
For the last hour of the event visitors and exhibitors let their hair down and danced to Mind The Gap, a five-piece band from Ely.
Christine Brown from Marie Curie said: “We were delighted to be chosen as the beneficiary of Hidden Secrets.
“There was something for everyone, from wine-tasting from Cambridge Wine to meeting a skunk from Shepreth Wildlife Park.
“The event really was a showcase of the area’s businesses.”
Organisers are already busy planning next year’s event, and details will be announced in The Crow later this year.
