The founder of a charity set up to research sudden cardiac death has been presented with a cheque of £100 from the Royston Business Network.

The cheque was presented to Julie Emmerson from Royston, who founded The Nicola Emmerson Trust after her daughter died suddenly in 2007 while out celebrating her 20th birthday.

The money will go towards funding research into the causes and the prevention of sudden cardiac death in young people.

The business network’s group ethos is to support charity as much as they can and they encourage outside speakers to come and speak to the group.

They meet every Thursday at the Royston Heath Sports Club between 7.30pm and 9pm.
