PUPILS from Petersfield School in Orwell enjoyed exclusive access to Wimpole Home Farm's new adventure playground.

The playground opened for the first time last week and 17 reception class pupils were lucky enough to be given a sneak preview.

The lucky youngsters got to put seven areas of adventure through its paces and explored the new trail and climbing frames, and played on the ropes, zip slides, wobble boards and stepping stones.

Home Farm Manager David Watson said: "We wanted to improve the adventure woodland so it can be used throughout the year. It has always been very popular with our visitors and we have now created an even more fantastic area for families.

"We have special links with Petersfield School so we asked if they would like to be the first to use the new equipment... it was a special treat and they jumped at the chance."

Reception class teacher Juliet Hardy said: "The children had a wonderful time and were really excited to be the first to use the playground and they loved the new climbing equipment. It was a great day and it was nice to see them having so much fun.
