PEOPLE moving to South Cambridgeshire will have to pay for the delivery of a wheelie bin.
From April 1, new arrivals will have to pay South Cambridgeshire District Council £60 for it to drop off a bin.
The one-off delivery charge will cover both the black non-recyclable bins and the recyclable green ones.
The bins, however, will remain the property of the council, and will be replaced if stolen.
As a region South Cambridgeshire is growing rapidly, with more people moving to the area.
A district council spokesman said: "New residents are continuing to move to the area and the council needs to cover the delivery costs of the bins.
"The costs are not covered in their Council Tax and it is unfair to expect existing residents to subsidise new ones," he said.
Smaller green boxes used by residents will continue to be free.
