FORMER Crow reporter Joanne Jarvis has quite literally flown the nest in a charity leap of faith.

Jo, 24, of Shaftesbury Way, Royston, jumped out of an aeroplane at 12,000ft for a tandem skydive, raising money for the Isobel Hospice.

She said: "I'd always wanted to do a skydive. When I was approached by the hospice I thought it was an ideal opportunity.

"Looking out of the plane door I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be - I was excited. I think the adrenaline had kicked in.

"It happened so quickly, the freefall was one of the best bits."

Jo completed the jump at Chatteris Airfield in Cambridgeshire, with Archant employee Jo Barnes, and is hoping to have raised about £400.
