A PRELIMINARY planning application has been submitted to erect a telecommications mast in Royston.
Waldon Telecom is seeking permission to erect a 10-metre mast at the junction of Baldock Road and Tannery Drift.
The company caused anger when it submitted a plan to build a massive 73ft mast on land close to the Royston telephone exchange.
The plan led to a protest from residents in nearby Palace Gardens and Kneesworth Street.
Waldon Telecom dropped the scheme last week, but there was concern that it was looking for an alternative site in the vicinity.

The scheme includes car parking and a lorry parking area.
- Plans to buildi a block for light industrial use and warehousing and manufacturing have been submitted to North Herts District Council.
The scheme is for a site off Jarman Way, Royston.
