A group of ladies from Royston completed a 62 mile walk from London to Cambridge to raise money for C2 Children’s Cancer Ward at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
The walk, by Wendy Gurr, 46, Beckie Sole, 39, Louise Westbury, 38, Fran Dasseville, 44, and Sally Taylor, 40, took just under 31 hours – with lots of tears, blisters, illnesses, injuries, laughs, and memories to last a lifetime.
Wendy said: “A huge big thank you to everyone who donated and supported us. As a team we’ve raised nearly £5,000 for the ward at Addenbrooke’s, so big thanks to each and every one of you.
“At the end our bodies and feet were aching and hurting all over, but the thought of everyone’s support and the amazing charity the money is going to kept us all going.”
