STUDENTS and teachers at The Meridian School in Royston have bid goodbye to a much-loved maths teacher, who is retiring after 23 years. Sabrina Underwood left the school yesterday (Wednesday) as assistant headteacher. She said: "The years have flown by. "The children have been great and the staff have been wonderful to work with. It's been a great experience and the school is a different school from when I first started. "One of the highlights for me was the school gaining specialist status in maths and computing." A spokesman for the school said: "We are going to miss her greatly, especially her laughter." Mrs Underwood plans to spend her time travelling, playing golf and doing charity work. 1603DW10
