MORE than 150 people took a journey back in time at an archaeological day at the Royston & District Museum.
The day which was organised by Clive Dilley and his young archaeologist son, James, was the second to be held at the museum during the past 12 months.
Museum curator Carole Kaszak said: "It was absolutely marvellous.
"Everyone who attended seemed enthusiastic towards what we were doing and I think they went away learning more about archaeology.
"It certainly was a worthwhile day," she said.
There was a steady line of visitors attending the event during the day - and the museum also gained five new members to its Time Trackers, a group of young people who are keen to learn about history.
"We seemed to be ticking over all day and there were a lot of people showing an interest," she said.
The activities in the museum's courtyard included a search for "gold" coins with a metal detector, crossbow shooting, a display of a Roman burial and dissecting owl pellets.
