MONDAY night saw the return of one of the country's most popular girl bands to a packed Cambridge Corn Exchange, writes NATALIE BROADBENT.

I had been looking forward to the Sugababes gig for weeks and Heidi, Keisha, and Amelle certainly didn't disappoint.

From the moment the girls walked onto the stage they held such a presence that every eye in the building was sharply fixed upon them.

The three stars made their entrance wearing coloured tutu-type dresses before belting out Hole in the Head and Round Round.

They were joined by three dancers who acted as mirror images for each girl.

The dancers were a nice addition, adding to the fun atmosphere and their presence worked supremely on some songs such as Ugly.

They also provided entertainment in between the Sugababes' many costume changes.

And the costumes were certainly adventurous, including shiny glitterball skirts which reflected around the whole venue, big puffy red dresses, and black sequined dresses.

However, I think that perhaps the not so beautiful leaf design dresses/dressing gowns and cling film dresses were a little over the top.

The girls stormed through some of their most famous songs, including Freak Like Me, Stronger, Lost in You and Change.

There was also a nice mix of tracks from their latest album, including the fantastic Never Gonna Dance Again, which I had never heard before, but is now stuck in my head on repeat.

The girls also performed a brilliant cover of En Vogue's Don't Let Go about halfway through the show, which went down extremely well with the audience.

Heidi, Keisha, and Amelle all proved that they have stunning voices, and didn't miss a note all night.

I originally thought that Keisha was the most gifted vocally, but having experienced the voices of all three, I would say they were all extremely talented.

Their individual personalities certainly came across throughout the show, with each girl adding her own touch to the routines, which was nice to see.

Push the Button and About You Now finished off the evening in style, and with their jumping, clapping, and energy, it seemed the Sugababes were having as much fun as the audience.
