PUPILS from a Crow country college harnessed their sleuth skills when they attended a chemistry festival at a university.
Luke Barrett, Jamie Doughty, Daisy Jameson and Emma Lindsey, year eight pupils from Bassingbourn Village College, took part in the Salter’s Festival of Chemistry held at Cambridge University last week.
Their challenges at the event, which was part of the Cambridge Science Festival, included finding out who committed a mock murder by testing samples – and they took first prize for their efforts.
Suzette Smith from the college said: “The Bassingbourn team were very nervous when it was time for the prize giving but there was excitement all round when it was announced that they had won. Everyone involved enjoyed the day.”
