STUDENTS from Bassing-bourn Village College have been grilling people from the world of politics.
The panel of politicians included Cambridge MP David Howarth, Cam-bridgeshire South East MP Jim Paice, President of the Cambridge University Students Union Mark Ferguson and producer of the BBC's Politics Show East, Deborah McGurran.
History and citizenship teacher Andy Margetts, said: "The pupils enjoyed the day especially the ceremony of it all as it was held in the council chambers."
The panel faced a series of tough questions covering a wide range of issues from a delegation of 80 students from Bassingbourn and the City of Ely Community College.
Students were given a taste of political debate and the event aimed to help them develop an overview of what is being done to encourage more youngsters to engage in the democratic process.
