PREPARATIONS are under way for this year's Buntingford carnival, which will capture the sights and sounds of the 1950s and 1960s. Four bands - including a rock-n-roll band and traditional jazz band - and five dance troupes are lined up for the event on June 24. There will also be fair ground rides, quad bikes, displays, trade stalls, exhibitions, strolling entertainers and clowns with the carnival procession taking place at 3pm. If you would like to be in the procession or have a stall at the event, call Helen Baker on 01763 271176. - On May 13, a fund-raising event will be held at the Seth Ward Centre in Luynes Rise, when a 1960s tribute band, The Overtures, will perform.
