AN auction of promises is to have a sporting touch on Saturday.

Rugby Union World Cup hero Jonny Wilkinson will have his autobiography My World under the hammer along with an England shirt signed by Lawrence Dallaglio.

And the sporting side of the evening continues with a picture of Augusta signed by ex-US Masters champion Nick Faldo.

The event is taking place in the Eversden Village Hall on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Other "lots" include archery lessons, Scuba diving and holiday accommodation in The Algarve.

There is, too, the opportunity to bid for a service such as baby sitting, dog walking or car cleaning.

Local artists Biddy Boyd and Dan Walmsley have both donated one of their works to the auction.

And to keep with the sporting theme there will also be on offer a Wimbledon-style strawberries tea and Pimms.
