ROYSTON schools have come together to achieve two prestigious sporting quality marks.

All the first and middle schools in the town, together with the Meridian school, have achieved the Activemark (primary level) and Sportsmark (secondary level).

These recognise high quality P.E. and school sport, and the commitment to at least two hours of curriculum time devoted to P.E. per week.

Terry Graves, Hertfordshire P.E. Consultant and head of P.E. at Greneway School, said: "With the highly publicised health issues in our society, it has never been more important for our young people to access, participate in, and commit to, high quality physical education and school sport and extend this into lifelong, healthy, experiences.

"This is a superb celebration of P.E. and school sport for the Royston Area School Partnership.
