A SOLID performance by goalkeeper Alan Green and a fine defensive display was unable to stop Bassingbourn Youth from being defeated by four goals against Elsenham Youth.
The first half was quite even with both sides going close and the best chance falling to Jordan Townson of Bassingbourn who narrowly shot wide, and the half time whistle came with the game still goalless.

Within 10 minutes of the second half Elsenham took the lead and then superior fitness took over and they scored three more in the last 10 minutes to give the scoreline a somewhat unfortunate look.
It was a much improved performance by Bassingbourn who suffered two very heavy defeats to the same opposition last season.
