A GROUP of majorettes from Royston twirled their way to success at the weekend.

The Electralites swept the board at this years Twirling UK Southern Regionals - by taking home 40 first places.

Zoe Barfield, troupe leader, said: "I can't believe we won so many.

"We take part in the competition every year, but we have never done so well."

The 32 girls had spent months in training, and will now compete in the National finals to be held in Caister in October.
