A MAN from Orwell and his friend have designed their own three day hike, which they which they will walk in aid of charity.

Pete Haskell, who grew up in the village, and his friend Mike Dyer, will walk across Devon and Cornwall through October, while raising money for the British Heart Foundation.

Their target is to walk across all three of the south-west’s moors in three days, which is a distance just short of two marathons, and will include tackling some of the UK’s most rugged and wild contyside.

Mr Dyer’s father is currently recovering from a successful quadruple bypass operation.

They are looking to raise 500. Donations can be made by visiting their website at www.justgiving.com/three-moors-challenge.
