A TIGHT poll in Melbourn saw Liberal Democrat Graham Hales come out on top.
He picked up 1476 votes, ahead of new Conservative candidate Colin Jaffray, who polled 1343.
Labour's Angela Patrick picked up 231 votes, with UKIP's Peter Wilkinson and the Green candidate Samual Morris getting 158 and 66 votes respectively. Turn out was 76.51 per cent.
