AN abundance of sign posts on a Royston road was this week described as only benefiting the town’s little dogs.
Councillor Peter Burt this week highlighted a number of posts on Mill Road are carrying misleading information and could confuse drivers.
Cllr Burt, speaking at the town council’s highways and general purpose committee, said: “Some of these signs are at best misleading and at worst wrong. “I think it’s important the people living in that area are not plagued by the shear number that there are.”
The committee unanimously voted to refer the matter to County Councillor Fiona Hill who said Highways were looking to crack down on “street clutter”.
In closing committee chairman Mike Harrison said: “It seems to me the only people who are benefiting from all these posts is the little dogs in the area.”
