THE dreary weather could not put visitors off taking a trip to Barkway's annual market on Saturday.
More than 2,000 people made their way from all over Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire to experience the buzz of the market stalls.
Organiser Ros Richardson said: "We had a really good day. We were lucky because we didn't have any rain until about 4pm.
"All the societies did well, and people told me the standard of the stalls was very high."
A presentation was made to the main organiser of the event, Graham Williams, who is leaving the village.
Proceeds from the market will be donated towards maintaining Barkway Village Hall.
