A woman from Shepreth has penned a book based on her experience running a group at Royston’s University of the Third Age.
Elisabeth Goodman runs French Conversation sessions at U3A – a learning organisation for retired and semi-retired people – and this inspired her to write ‘Conversation s’il vous plait’.
The guide is for anyone who wants to start a similar group, giving tips on how to get up and running, plus topics and materials needed.
Elisabeth was born in Belgium, learned French as a child, and has helped many people learn French over the years – including a man in his 90s.
She said: “He did really well and when he went to France and someone said ‘you’re good’ he was so chuffed. That’s what makes running a group like this so worthwhile,”
Elisabeth also runs business training courses for adults and has written works on business.
